Pegasus Equine Training provides Units of Competency, accredited and non-accredited Courses and Certificate training. All these courses are written in English, and the High Risk Licensing units of competency have a minimum English literacy requirement. Pegasus Equine Training has Literacy and Numeracy Learning units on scope if required, and undertakes LLN assessments prior to commencement of course training.
Enrolment
As per regulatory requirements, all trainees are required to be enrolled in all units and courses of training offered under scope by Pegasus Equine Training. Enrolment forms may include statutory informaion requirements.
Education Standards
Pegasus Equine Training is required to comply with the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework standards and conditions of registration.
Nationally Recognised Training
Pegasus Equine Training will recognise any Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and VET qualifications and VET Statement of Attainments issued by any other Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Formal Training and Informal Learning
Pegasus Equine Training provides courses that require classroom (Formal) training or workplace (Informal) training, or a combination of both. If trainees are required to complete a workplace component, a formal training component must be undertaken first. Unless the formal component has been successfully completed, in most instances, the trainee will be unable to move on to informal training.
Formal training for High Risk License training must be completed before a trainee can gain any workplace experience on the use or operation of plant or machinery.
Fees
In most cases, any course fee you will be quoted will be the total fee including any course fee, any administration fees, materials fees and a certificate/card fee. For all course commencements, Pegasus Equine Training will provide the appropriate resources to ensure that trainees have every opportunity to complete the training and/or assessment in which the trainee has enrolled and commenced. Should the Trainer/Assessor be unable to continue delivering a course in which the trainee is enrolled, Pegasus Equine Training will make every endeavour to relocate the trainee with another Trainer/Assessor.
Payment of fees is due and payable to your Trainer/Assessor before the commencement of any course.
Refund/Cancellation Policy
Trainees who withdraw from a course 14 days prior to the course commencement will be entitled to a full course refund or transfer. Trainees who withdraw from a course with less than 7 days notice prior to the commencement, will not be refunded. Transfers will be accepted up to 7 days prior to the course commencement.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process whereby competencies gained through previous work or life experience can be recognised. Participants who have completed or partially completed a course at another institution, have been working in the vocational area for a number of years, or who have in some other way gained the appropriate skills, may wish to apply for recognition of the previous training or experience. Participants may apply for exemptions in a course, a unit of competency, or one or more elements within a unit of competency. The applicant must supply evidence that demonstrates the performance criteria for each unit of competency that has been met.
To apply for RPL, an applicant must do the following:
- Gather all relevant documentation and evidence relating to previous and current work
- Complete an application form supplied by Pegasus Equine Training
- Submit these to the trainer or assessor for assessment. You will be required to attend an interview to support your application, and/or be assessed through theory and/or practical assignments.
NOTE: For those trainees applying for RPL in Workplace Health & Safety licenses, mandatory assessments must still be undertaken.
Complaints and Appeals Policy
Pegasus Equine Training has procedures in place for complaints and appeals should they arise. If participants have a complaint with any aspect of their training, they are encouraged to speak immediately with the trainer/assessor or the course manager to resolve the issue. If the participant is not satisfied that the issue has been resolved, he/she may wish to write a letter to the Director/Principal, setting out in detail the issues of concern. Participants have a maximum period of 4 weeks in which they can appeal against their assessment results. The trainee should first approach the assessor if they wish to appeal an assessment decision. If the matter is not resolved to the satisfaction of the trainee, there is an option for further review by the director and an independent panel. For further information on the complains/appeals procedure, please contact Pegasus Equine Training.
Facilities and Equipment Required
All trainees will be provided with a notice of attendance that provides full details of course location and attendance requirements.
